- Human intervention trial on visualization of brown adipose tissue in human adults by means of MRI and PET/CT-imaging
- Human intervention trial on the effects of 10-day intermittent cold exposure on brown adipose tissue recruitment in healthy lean men and women
- Human intervention trial on the effects of 10-day intermittent cold exposure on brown adipose tissue recruitment in healthy overweight/obese men
Main activities
- Writing research proposals for human intervention studies; this included handling ABR forms, CRF and all necessary METC forms
- Organizing and performing human intervention studies, including handling all necessary forms
- Evaluating and statistically analyzing research data
- Writing papers for publication in peer-reviewed journals
- Presenting data at (inter) national conferences
- Supervising students in tutorial groups and practical work

During my free time I am exercising regularly, I follow classes in body pump and spinning. Last July I walked the Nijmeegse Vierdaagse for the first time and I really enjoyed it. I like to go outside for long-distant walks. Moreover I am traveling to Lisse monthly, this is the village where I grew up and during those weekends I visit family and friends. It is very important for me to see them regularly. Finally, during the remaining free time I like to read books (from Jill Mansell to Stieg Larsson) and watch television.
