Marketing Director / VP Field Marketing EMEA
At SDL: Customer Experience Management solution provider.

I am responsible for lead generation across 5 regions in EMEA (UK, Nordics, Benelux, DACH, South/MEA/emerging countries) through:

• Managing a team of 5 field marketers, based in the various countries
• Working closely with additional marketing teams, incl. Product Marketing, PR & Social Marketing, Corporate Branding, Corporate Events, etc.
• Organisation of events, tradeshows, seminars, webinars, etc.
• Digital campaign management (Marketo, Salesforce.com)
• Planning & budgetting
• Briefing external agencies
• Text writing
• Profiling CRM database and applying analytics and segmentation
• Interpreting and analysing Webstatistics
• Social Media content management
• Selecting and briefing call agency for lead generation and profiling
• Selecting and briefing partners across the region for enlarging (quantity) and enhancing (quality) the prospect database
• Nurturing the prospect database (Incl. lead scoring)
• Working closely with an Inside Sales group to drive prospects to MQLs (Marketing Qualified Leads)

• Setting up and managing an internal video and photography team for customer case studies, video animations, product videos and event support
• Setting up a Customer Reference Program

My team’s activities resulted in significant increase of sales leads. Mailshots have an open rate of at least 25% with a high click through rate. Knowledge sessions (both live and online) are attended well and lead to increased sales activity.
CRM system is enriched with 30% contacts with email addresses within the target markets, taking local legal situations into account.

At Exact Software: Vendor of business application software for SMEs

Responsibilities included:
• Managing a team of 2-6 people
• Bringing new products to market globally
• Defining value propositions and positioning
• Determining go-to-market strategies
• Rollout of corporate product lines globally in close conjunction with regional and local sales and marketing teams
• Contact with global business analysts
• Contact with global partners and alliances
• Developing and rolling out Exact’s new corporate branding and identity, incl. updating the employees and business partners globally.


May 2005 – December 2006

Public Relations Director
At Oracle Netherlands

Responsibilities included:

• Contact with the business and technical press (daily for tier 1 media, weekly and monthly for other tier 1’s and tier 2 and 3 media)
• Creation and execution of the PR program for Oracle in The Netherlands
• Raising local press releases (customer wins, go-lives, etc.) and supporting international press releases
• Setting up interviews and public speaking opportunities for both local and corporate spokespeople
• Creating and maintaining (incl. training) a network of internal spokespeople

As the combination of the Product Planning and Product Marketing roles were separated, I focused on Product Marketing. Responsibilities included:

• Developing the product messaging
• Developing value propositions

I managed a team of 5 Product Marketers across EMEA.

c. April 2003 – April 2005: Marketing Director Benelux

Responsibilities included:
• Lead generation
• Brand recognition
• Raising general awareness
• Sales enablement
• Managing a team of 5 people across 2 countries

Accomplishments:
- Re-structured the marketing team
- Introduced a new lead generation process
- Implemented SFA system in the Benelux
- Implemented a Suspect Maintenance System
- Introduced EMEA marketing campaigns
- PR handling

I specifically focused on PR and Analyst Relations program in the Benelux, the Benelux Reference Program, as well as PeopleSoft’s corporate advertising strategy.

Werkervaring
