Mijn dromen en ambities

Ambition:
I am searching for a function on direction, general or department management level for at least the coming 5 till 7 years in an electro technical or maritime environment. It is for me important that I can contribute with my experience to the growth of the company by positioning the organization on the international map or supporting with the development of new products or services or optimizing the processes which means mostly changes. I like to coach young and promising colleagues. I am willing to work or travel for certain periods abroad.


Personality:
I made several tests in my career and of course the details changed during the years but the qualities of nature where always the same: Pragmatic, analytic, extravert, responsive, flexible, multifunctional, independent, structural, critical and enthusiastic. My profile is reflected in my leadership styles, each with its own way of working and behavior:
Pragmatic: Setting specific targets, doing the possible, creating certainly, achieving predictable results, setting direction, managing synergies, permanent learning, I keep my feet’s on the ground and don’t like blocking rules.
Entrepreneur: Creating future business, keeping people open-minded, developing new opportunities, empowering people, building confidence, I am opportunity driven, trust others and have a sharp feeling for priorities. I am capable to handle a crisis and will almost automatically take the lead to recover trust.
Supervisory: Giving on the job feedback, showing personal involvement, trusting yourself, I deliver as agreed, you can count on me, I like real time performance reports (KPI’s) and I stay close for the best results.

Management I have 30 years experience in management and P&L responsibility in multi cultural & international organizations with a few persons up to more than 300 employees.
Integration of organizations I know the challenges & problems of managers & employees and above all the importance of teamwork and honest & open communication.
Change process Key for success is: Giving the example, proactive approach, inspiring managers and good & frequent communication of a clear vision, the process and goals.
Project organization I have know-how of the process & tools to execute projects in an efficient way: managing customer satisfaction, quality, profit, delivery time and risks, process optimizing with clear tasks & responsibilities and planning & financial tools linked to ERP.
Commerce in combination with technique In my opinion is customer satisfaction the main issue for sales and for purchase is partnership with important suppliers a must for success in the project phase and during after sales service. I have excellent negotiations skills.
Knowledge of power generation & distribution systems and drive technology with special attention to develop solutions with a lower energy need and less emission
Cost price reduction Change in design, standardization, optimizing the process, better purchase conditions which is not only a lower price, alternative suppliers, good production facilities, local for local, etc have a positive influence on the integral cost price.


Professional Experience:
2013-2014 Croon Electrotechniek BV in Rotterdam
Project director for the business unit Industry and working on the RWG project which is the new container terminal at Maasvlakte 2. Further I have to improve the structure, organization, process and method of project management

2012-2013 Imtech Marine North West Europe BV in Rotterdam
Director Projects

The Business Line Projects is a self supporting unit to execute new build programs for all type of ships and larger retrofits with more than 4000 labor hours in the own region and complex projects in other regions which have too less knowledge, experience or labor. The yearly production value is about €150M with some 220 employees. The Director Projects is one of the 5 members of the board of Imtech Marine North West Europe. The MT is as team responsible for strategy, R&D and profit & loss. The main tasks & responsibilities as Business Line Director can be derived from the mission statement. The mission is to execute the projects in an excellent way from handover from Sales up to the handover to Services by using an optimum of standard concepts and systems. The Business Line is up and running from the first of January 2012 with the existing projects for naval ships, river cruise vessels, offshore platforms, dredgers, crane-pipe laying vessels, yachts and offshore support vessels however the work in progress reduced quickly due to a lack of new orders caused by the economic situation and other regions executing more and faster their own projects.

2006-2011 Imtech Marine & Offshore BV in Rotterdam
Business Unit Director Yachts-Naval-Special Vessels-Offshore

My main responsibilities as BU-Director are sales, project execution, turnover and profit in the market segments: Special Vessels, Offshore, Naval (since 2009) and Yachts (since 2011). The units Assembly, Electrical Components (Representations & Spare Parts) and Electrical Systems are also part of the Business Unit. The unit has more than 300 employees on the payroll, a yearly production value of about €200M and above all a nice profit. Within the unit my most important focus points are: customer satisfaction, account management, improvement of project management, quality, safety, line management, employee satisfaction, financial control, process improvement and Public Relation. Responsibilities as board member of Imtech Marine & Offshore are among others: strategy, marketing, relations with customers and suppliers, process management, employee development, R&D and during the last years the introduction of a new ERP system. Important projects in this period are:
• All Yachts for Royal Shipyard De Vries Aalsmeer.
• The retrofit of a Dutch S-Class Frigate to a luxury Yacht of 141 meters.
• The new build program of survey vessels for Fugro based on a Green concept with Diesel-Electric propulsion.
• OPV programs for the Navies of The Netherlands, Morocco, Oman, Turkey, Indonesia and Venezuela.
• The largest offshore vessel built on this globe: Pieter Schelte of Allseas.
• Offshore construction-pipe laying vessels: Seven Borealis (Subsea7), Jascon 18 (STG), Audacia-Lorelay-Solitaire (Allseas) and Ceasar (Helix)
• Semi submersibles for Dockwise (Yacht Express) and Fairstar (Fjord).
• Dredgers for IHC Merwede and in China.
• Rock Dumpers for Boskalis and DEME.
The Imtech Marine Group of companies is growing and so is the need for ONE worldwide Imtech Marine with a clear strategy, market approach, organization and account management. This means in The Netherlands a full integration of Imtech Marine & Offshore and Radio Holland in an organization with 3 Business Lines (Sales-Projects-Services) supported by staff departments (Finance, HRM, ICT, Legal and Logistics). I made with my team the business plan for the new Business Line Projects.

Started as Manager Electrical Components and 4 years later I was responsible for all Representations. After 6 years I changed to Manager Electrical Systems & Components with main focus on the development of electrical propulsion concepts.
1988-1992 ITS-Electrotechniek BV in Raamsdonk
Started as Product Group Manager and left as Director Energy Products.
1980-1988 HOLEC Switchgear Group in Utrecht, Amersfoort and Hengelo
Started as Sales Engineer and left finally as Business Development Manager.
